The Vampire Diaries: What did YOU think?

Last night, the library hosted a Vampire Diaries Premiere Party! There were squeals of delight, and screams all around when certain characters entered the storyline. What did you think of the first episode? Will you watch the show? Did you like Stefan, Elena and Damon?
Let's dish! Comment by clicking on "Comments" below...

By 7:30, there was a line at the door to get in!

We talked about vampire books, and got ideas for more great reads!

We snacked on cookies, chips, popcorn and punch.

The bean bag chairs were the most popular spot to watch from.

OK, I watched. I wasn't sure I was going to because the previews looked a bit cheesy and I had heard mixed reviews. But I figured I'd give it a chance. It wasn't bad. I was overall pretty happy with it. They did change quite a bit. I was glad I haven't read the books in over a year so I couldn't remember everything.I think I'll keep it that way. Honestly though, I thought it was pretty well done. I liked and believed the actors they got to play the characters. And I can't say I'll mind watching both Ian and Paul. Never hurts to have something nice to look at.

I DVR'ed it, since I spend the entire hour making you popcorn and filling the punch bowl! ;) I watched it again, and I liked it. I was so worried it was going to be lame, but I like the fact that they are building different plotlines that could enhance the series. I really don't mind so much that Bonnie is not a redhead and also a combination of Meredith/Bonnie. It doesnt bother me that Elena is not a blonde. I think I like where Paul Wesley is taking the Stefan character. The girls at the party all said "NO!", when I asked if they thought he was cute, but I think that by the end of the season, they might feel differently because he's got that gentle and sensitive guy thing going. I think that Ian Somerhalder is going to do AWESOME things with the mischievious Damon, which should be fairly easy. It's a juicy part.
